Lulu’s Time Bomb FAQs

Why do I need a Day Cream and a Night Cream?
The Time Bomb Day and Night Cream are two very different products that offer different benefits and to help care for your skin.

The Glory Days Day Cream is formulated specifically for daytime use.  It not only moisturises and helps make skin appear firmer and plumper, it also creates a breathable matrix on the skin that locks in moisture and creates a perfect surface for makeup application.  And the tiny bits of opalescent, reflective particles make the skin look luminous with an even tone and texture.

The Flashback Night Cream is formulated specifically for nighttime use and is loaded with powerful ingredients that can work through the night.   Our body does most of its repairing during sleep.   Cells turn over at a higher rate giving skin a greater chance to draw in nutrients, which makes the nighttime the best time to treat your skin.   Flashback drenches the skin in rich oils, botanicals, anti-oxidants and phytolipids and also contains a unique ingredient called Nutrilayer that forms a protective “seal” or barrier that entraps moisture and oils (and prevents the cream rubbing off on your pillow!).

When should I put on the eye cream - over or under the day cream?
You can apply Smart Balm Eye either before the day cream or after, whatever your preference.  Lulu applies the Smart Balm Eye Cream first, covering quite a wide circle around the eyes. Then she applies the day cream, overlapping the eye cream on her cheekbones to make sure all her skin is covered. During the day she reapplies Smart Balm to continually nurture and protect the delicate skin around her eyes.

When do I use the Youth Juice Secret Oil - under the day or under the night cream? Originally Lulu conceived the Youth Juice as a nighttime treatment for use under the Flashback Night Cream. However she quickly adopted the Youth Juice as a daytime product as well, used under the Glory Days Day Cream.   The Youth Juice Secret Oil contains essential oils, which cannot be manufactured effectively within a cream. Whether you use it night or day it delivers additional beneficial ingredients supplementing those in the creams. Both the Glory Days Day Cream and the Flashback Night Creams “seal” in the oil, so you get the maximum benefit.

How often should I use the dermabrasion?
Everyone's skin is a bit different, and generally, people are the best judge of what is best for them. Lulu uses the Blast to the Past Dermabrasion 2-3 times per week. You should judge the right frequency for you by both comfort and appearance. You should feel refreshed and glowing after use of the dermabrasion. If your skin feels raw and red, then you are likely using it too often or with too much vigorous rubbing. Try out different frequencies to see what brings you the best results.  And always follow dermabrasion use with Glory Days Day Cream,  Flashback Night Cream and/or Youth Juice Secret Oil.

I have sensitive skin; can I still use the dermabrasion?
Yes, you can still use the Blast to the Past Dermabrasion even with sensitive skin. So long as you do not have open cuts or skin irritations to start, we suggest starting at a lower level of use and build up to a level that is comfortable for you. Start out perhaps once a week using light circular motions in your application. If you are comfortable with that, you can increase both the frequency as well as the strength and duration of application. You should judge the right frequency for you by both comfort and appearance. You should feel refreshed and glowing after use of the Dermabrasion followed by application of  Glory Days Day Cream, Flashback Night Cream and/or Youth Juice Oil. If your skin feels raw and red, then you are likely using it too often or with too much vigorous rubbing. Try out different frequencies to see what brings you the best results.

Do I need to use the Polishing Pads every time one cleanses?
This is up to the individual.  The Polishing Pads are gentle enough to use everyday and we recommend using one each time you cleanse your skin for the most effective exfoliating.  However some people find less frequent use is best for them and you can adapt the regimen as suits your skin.

Can I use the Polishing Pads over again?
The Polishing Pads are designed for single use, however the pads are sturdy and you may be able to re-use.  The rough side will wear down after use depending upon how firmly and how long you rub with it. If the texture appears to still be raised after initial use, rinse the pad completely and try to use again.  Experiment…you’ll be able to feel if the pads are still good.

Do I need to use a separate Eye Make-up Remover?
The skin around the eye is very delicate and eye makeup tends to be difficult to remove, so it is best to use a product designed to treat that area gently, with special cleansing ingredients that will gently lift off make-up, especially mascara, with minimal rubbing.  Lulu’s Eye R&R Eye Make-Up Remover will effectively cleanse while soothing and moisturising the eye area.  Used in conjunction with Lulu’s Take-Off Time Cleanser, your face will be perfectly clean without feeling stripped or dry.

Is there Sunscreen in the Day Cream?
While our Glory Days Day Cream does contain some ingredients that help provide sun protection, it has not been SPF tested or rated.  The Day Cream can be used in combination with a sunscreen to provide you the most efficient sunscreen protection.

Do I need a Toner?
A toner will not interfere with the Lulu's Time Bomb creams so you can use one if you like as long as you don't feel that yours is drying. If you choose to use a toner we suggest avoiding using one that contains alcohol.

What is the shelf life and how long after opening are they effective?
All products have a shelf life of at least three years if unopened. The shelf life once opened varies from product to product. This time is noted on the individual packs.
